Easy back office integration with WEM
We love to brag about the integration features in WEM. We’ve showed you how it’s done. I want to show you some cool examples of different integrations with large and well known databases, such as bol.com and Schiphol. Discover how it’s useful for your company. For example, think about integration with your backoffice.
Nowadays every system needs to be able to integrate with backoffice systems. However, it’s not always possible, and if it is, it’s hard, takes forever and is probably expensive. So you’d rather not and keep working the way your system dictates your process flow. Very inconvenient for your business process. Luckily, there is WEM. WEM can basically integrate with every system, in and out. The only thing you need is for the other system to allow exposing its data using for example REST, SOAP or OData.
More and more open data is provided by enterprises in the Netherlands. I chose a selection, which will serve as examples of back office data, to show you what you can do with it. I chose:
- RDW provides all kinds of information about your car via a REST service
- Schiphol publicly offers all flight departure and arrival information via a REST service
- Bol.com provides all its webshop data as a REST service
- Postal code information via a SOAP service
- NS not yet available, but soon to follow is an integration with all NS information
RDW is a public service provider in the mobility chain and provides vehicle information via a REST web service. Give a license plate number and the webservice spits out data about the respective vehicle. Here you see how the flowchart looks like in WEM:
The Schiphol database is another REST webservice example I used in my application. This webservice was recently made available by Schiphol and gives information on departure flights and arrival flights. This is how easy the flowchart for Schiphol looks like in my WEM application:
Just map the information you want to use to the right fields in your project:
Within only 2 days I integrated my WEM application with 4 major databases, whereby I spent the majority of the time on layout and displaying the information as desired. I’m sure you’re already thinking of a process you want to digitalize, which is not possible in your current software. WEM helps you to bring your business process to a web application that easily integrates with your back office, without needing to adjust your current software, data and business processes.
Check out these integration examples and discover what WEM can do for you.
