The Replace() function returns a new text in which all occurences of old_value in text are replaced by new_value.

Syntax

Replace(text, old_value, new_value)

Returns

A new text where each occurence of old_value is replaced by new_value.

Parameters

  • text the text on which the replace operation is performed.
  • old_value the text that is to be replaced by new_value.
  • new_value the text that replaces all occurrences of old_value.

Note: Text functions are not case-sensitive and ignore diacritics (accents).

Examples

Replace("Apples are round, and apples are juicy.", "apples", "oranges")
/* returns "Oranges are round, and oranges are juicy." */

Replace("Dialog", "ial", "")
/* returns "Dog" */
